    Arrival .
    Review:

    1. . seminal groover from Wynd chyme – . group with a channel that’s as catchy as their name! The Atlanta combo only cut a few records, but all of them are great – and this introduction does a great job of mixture modern soul with harmony vocal – all with a tight funky undercurrent that’s right in the best mode of some of the bigger RCA soul acts of the time – particularly Keni Burke or Michael Wycoff! A few mellower cut premix in with the uptempo numbers, creating a Nice balance that almost reminds us of late 70 Earth current of air & fire – particularly in the way the horn are fused into the rhythm – and title include “Checkin Out Your Stuff”, “Love Has Come Again”, “Stylin & Profilin”, “Girl It’s Alright”, “Ain’t It Good”, “Do It”, and “Arrival”..
    2. The Mississippi based blue funk band Wynd chyme formed in the 70’s. They released an obscure 7” single ‘Baby you’re the one’ on the imprint ‘Lotus Land’. This was a demonstration and apparently the catalyst for getting them signed to RCA Victor Records. In 1978, just with a record deal in the bag, Alexander O’Neill left the group to focus on his solo with the manufacturer jimmy jam & Dame Ellen Terry Lewis of Flyte Tyme Productions. The record album ‘Arrival’ was produced by Antony A Lockett, a member of cameo and contains great disco blue funk tracks as ‘Arrival’, ‘Checking out your stuff and ‘Do it ’. One lay was released on one inch: ‘Sending my love’. Wynd chyme – reaching is a typical aggregator album, which is now released for the first time on cadmium .
    Tracks:
    01. Arrival
    02. Stylin’, Smilin’ & Profilin’
    03. Checkin’ Out Your Stuff
    04. Love Has Come Again
    05. Body Rap h
    06. Do It
    07. sending My Love
    08. Girl It’s Alright
    09. Ain’t It Good

    Prince
Expanding the urban R&B and blue blue funk approach of his debut, prince is . considerably more accomplished record than his first effort, featuring the first signs of his adventurous, sexy signature sound Although the album is still rather uneven, a smattering of song rank as classics “I Wanna Be Your Lover” is excellent lite blue funk and “Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?” is a wonderful soulful plea, but “I Feel for You,” a sexy slice of urban R&B with a strong papa melody, is the true masterpiece of Prince, indicating the major discovery of his next album, Dirty Mind .
    Tracks:
    01. I Wanna Be Your Lover
    02. Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?
    03. Sexy Dancer
    04. When We’re dancing Close and Slow
    05. With You
    06. Bambi
    07. Still Waiting
    08. I Feel for You
    09. It’s Gonna Be Lonely

Huge, huge, huge, huge!!!  Melanie Fiona will be playing two show this July at London’s Jazz Cafe.

The gig will take place on Monday 19th, and Tuesday 20th.  ticket are £20 available from the wind coffee shop website .  And to think . almost paid £50+ to sit at the back of the O2 and see her support Alicia Keys!

Super excited about this one and if you are free on either night it is a must!  I’m not sure I can think heterosexual person at the moment… lol.  This is honest R&B,  commonplace free R&B and the Canadian vocalist pretty much delivered one of the strongest record album in the genre for 2009

Below is a video of her playing It killing Me live in the US as proof I am not making this up and her show should be stonking!!

Cr2 Records first launched there LIVE & DIRECT compilation series at the tail end of 2007. The series started with a bang, featuring a head-to-head electro house battle between Dirty South & Kurd Maverick. Having said that, the series reached new heights with the Miami 2008 Compilation, which was extremely well received and leaped straight to the top of the charts. This was no mean feat considering the competition, which included the mainstay brands such as Azuli, Ministry of Sound and Defected.

Cr2 Miami 2009 follows on exactly where the 2008 edition left us…hanging on for one more tune! The compilation again offers 3 CD’s, with the theme across the CD’s spanning CD1-Day / CD2-Night and CD3-Classics. This combination seems to really work enabling the label to cover the broad spectrum of music they release.

The compilation features a massive 47 tracks, of which 20 are exclusive to Cr2! Featuring upfront cuts from DJ Sneak vs Herve, Mark Brown, Harry Choo Choo Romero & Jose Nunez… plus ‘Love Emergency’ the huge new single from Kurd Maverick Feat. Sam Obernik.
